I'll be back!

Hi everyone,
It’s been a few days since the Masters and I’m now in Kuala Lumpur for the Maybank Malaysian Open.
Obviously I am still a little disappointed that things didn’t go my way at Augusta but it is just one of those things.
The albatross at the second hole was my first one ever. When something like that happens so early in your round, you can’t help but think it might be your day.
But I played well. It was not a tournament where I felt like I played badly. And congratulations to Bubba Watson, he deserved it.
Losing in a play-off just makes me want to win that Green Jacket even more now. Before last weekend I had never even made the cut... MORE »
Very busy schedule

Not qualifying for the US Tour’s play-offs meant I had to return for a week in California and then across the country to the east coast’s Sea Island to complete my 15-tournament obligation.
California was not particularly memorable from a playing point of view, but I was much happier the following week.
I’d been working quite a bit on my putting and it was nice to see the ball going into the hole again at the Davis Love-hosted McGladrey Classic. I had a good feeling about the event because I’m not a big city person and like it when it’s nice and quiet.
Not that it was that quiet for the first three rounds because I was paired with Tiger Woods so obviously... MORE »
Time with my brother at St Andrews
Posted: 5th October 2011
The memories came flooding back, the smile across my face was broader than the shared 1st and 18th fairways and the excitement grew more intense the closer I got to St.Andrews last week.
I just couldn’t wait to return to the scene of my greatest triumph – last year’s Open Championship at the home of golf.
There weren’t as many banners along the route and the few on the route were to promote the Alfred Dunhill Links, and there weren’t as many people, but this was my first time back in the Kingdom of Fife and I couldn’t wait to be re-united with the grand old lady of golf.
I played alongside my brother Rickus this year, and in fact we were supposed... MORE »
Busy Times

Hi there everyone, sorry it’s been a while but the time is just flying right now!
It was certainly a fun week at the Masters, I didn’t play very well but it was great seeing Charl getting the win there and slipping on that special jacket. I was at the airport and the very nice airline delayed the plane by an hour so I could watch the finish.
We went to Kuala Lumpur after August to play in the Malaysian Open and although it was a very steamy hot week we had a good time. I played with Charl for the four rounds so we really enjoyed that.
Three weeks on the farm in South Africa was just wonderful – nothing golf related and... MORE »

Hi there folks, hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you all the very best for 2011.
Christmas time for us was great, it all got going on the 22nd when we celebrated Jana’s first birthday. We held a party for her and got a bouncy castle, slides and that kind of thing for her and her friends to play on – I think altogether there was about fifty people there and we had a lot of fun – Jana most certainly enjoyed herself!
We then spent Christmas on our farm with my side of the family and then went to Nel-Mare’s parents’ farm for the New Year. Their place is on the Orange River so we had a great... MORE »
Injury Woes
Posted: 7th November 2010
Sorry for the long wait but life has been a bit hectic the last four months and I've had a bit of an injury as well. I tore some ligaments in my left ankle and this is my first week back here at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
Part of my recovery is to play and get the ligaments back to normal but it is very difficult. I've got this huge brace I need to play with which restricts my swing.
So this was a week to test the ankle. I'm taking another two weeks off and then starting at the Dubai World Championship.
I shall be doing some more rehab during the next two weeks in Dubai so hopefully will be 100%... MORE »
Just The Best Week Ever

Hi everyone
Well, what can I say...... I won the Open Championship 2010.... man does that sound good.
I've always wondered how it would feel and if it would ever happen. Everyone around me believed in me but I always had that little bit of doubt. I must say, the minute I was in that situation I loved it. It made me focus so good and would love to be in it again. I now know that I can win majors and that I can handle those tough situations. It was just a great week and I hope you all enjoyed it like I did.
At the moment I'm in Sweden but can't wait for my week off next week to have a... MORE »
Open Week
Posted: 13th July 2010
Hi there everyone,
I'm in St Andrews and ready for the Open championship. My back is feeling better but still not 100%.
Last week was terrible in the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond. I played well but had a run of four holes where I missed four eight footers and missed a little 2 footer as well. I struggled to find my speed on the greens and that cost me badly.
This is a new week and I'm looking forward to it so much and being at St Andrews is really special. Hopefully the weather will be good but you never know in Scotland.
That's all for now. Louis

Hi everyone.......Hope everything is fine with you......
My last event I played was the US Open at Pebble Beach and I was very disappointed not making the cut there. I was playing so well but just made a few mistakes which cost me dearly.
I took off the week asfter the US Open to get myself ready for the French, Loch Lomond and the Open and then I went out and hurt my back in the Pro-am at the French Open on Wednesday. I had to withdraw on the Thursday just before my tee time. I hate that, because I felt really good going in to the tournament.
Now I'm at home resting and went for a MRI yesterday and I'm still waiting to hear the results from... MORE »
On The Move
Posted: 13th May 2010
Hi everyone ................. I know it's been a while since my last blog but I have a good excuse - I've been in South Africa and doing some house moving.
I have bought a little farm on the Gouritz river in the Southern Cape in SA which is right next to the farm I grew up on so I am very excited about all of this. I hope to never move house again, but I still need to actually move into the farmhouse in September.
We are so excited about this move and I have to say that, still being a kid at heart, I'm just looking forward to buying my tractor. I grew up on a farm so it is just in my blood,... MORE »
At Long Last

Hi everyone, AT LAST...........IT ONLY TOOK ME 7 YEARS.............. I always thought my first win will be on South African soil, but it came in Spain....
Since we last talked a few things have changed.... I picked up my first European Tour win and I'm in the MASTERS. That is the best feeling one can have. I worked really hard the last three months to have a chance to get into the Masters and it paid off.
Right now we're still in Manchester but we're leaving on Sunday to travel to Augusta.
I must say, winning in Spain was my highlight as professional so far. All the SA caddies walking with me the last day, my wife and daughter being there and then the invite to... MORE »

Hi everyone and greetings from Morocco where I play in the Trophee Hassan II this week.
I must say it was very difficult getting on a plane to Morocco leaving my wife and 3 month old baby in Manchester. But I'm here now and will make the best of the situation.
My ten day break after Vodacom Championship was great. We went up to my wife's family farm up in Koegas in the Northern Cape. I took my jetski with me and we had so much fun on the Orangeriver. It was also a big moment for me and my wife with Jana's Christening taking place that Sunday. It was very casual afterwards and it was also the Church's birthday so we had a... MORE »
Hi From The Braai
Posted: 15th February 2010
Hi everyone..... Nice to chat again. I'm at Pinnacle Point at the moment which is on the southern coast of South Africa in a town called Mossel Bay. Although it is very dry here at the moment it is very beautiful. I'm sitting next to a fire, busy on my laptop and having a nice "braai" which is a barbeque if you didn't know that already!
Dubai was so disappointing... I played really well but just struggled with my putting, which has also been the case for the last three months.
My cousin, who used to be a golf pro, visited me last Monday and he had a look at my putting. He saw something within the first minute and told me immediately what... MORE »
New Beginnings

Hi there everyone and welcome to my new website which I hope you're going to enjoy having a look round - I know I'm definitely going to enjoy it.
I'm currently in Qatar where the wind is blowing us to pieces so I think it's going to be an interesting week on the course!
My christmas was quite an experience with my little girl being born two days after playing the South African Open. I was so nervous for my wife's part of the role that I needed to sit down at one stage of the birth, but I managed to regain my composure and everything went great and I can just thank the Lord for that.
Everyone this week keeps on asking... MORE »
