With their G410 Plus drivers, Bubba Watson at 318.5 yards and Cameron Champ, 316.3, are 1st and T2 in average driving distance on the PGA Tour. Watson has led the field each of the three events he’s played since switching to the G410 Plus. He and Champ (who is #1 in carry distance, clubhead speed and ball speed), aren’t PING’s only powerful performers. Four of the top 10 and six of the top 13 longest drivers are PING pros.  Louis Oosthuizen (G400 LST) is T2 with Champ, and they are joined on the list — all averaging more than 310 yards — by Matt Wallace (G410 Plus) in 10th, Brandon Hagy in 11th playing G400 Max and Tony Finau in 13th with a G410 Plus. Trey Mullinax, a fixture among the driving-distance leaders, last week put in the G410 Plus.

Largest roster ever

PING’s 2019 PGA Tour staff of 30 contracted players is the largest roster in its history, as the company confirmed the re-signings of Joaquín Niemann, Louis Oosthuizen, Tyrrell Hatton, Andrew Landry and Harris English. Last week, PING announced the signing of major champion and six-time winner Stewart Cink.  The staff remains anchored by two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson and Tony Finau, the 10th-ranked player in the world. Emerging star Cameron Champ, consistently the longest driver on tour, has already won in his rookie season.  “It’s rewarding to see our contracted staff grow to its highest total ever while we continue to have a strong presence among other players who choose to play PING equipment because they believe it best fits their games,” said John K. Solheim, PING President. “Our focus on engineering and custom-building the best products available helps provide our players the confidence to compete at the highest level.”.
