Our winning sequence came to an end in Spain last week, but there was plenty to be encouraged by.
Not least was Darren Clarke’s top 10 finish at the Castello Masters which should boost his chances of claiming a place in the Race to Dubai which Lee Westwood currently leads.
And Andrew Coltart will also have been encouraged by one of his best tournaments of the season – his top 10 meaning that he still has a chance to claim playing privileges for next season. Lee’s brother-in-law seems to start and finish the season well so a top 115 place is within reach.
Now I’m in Singapore for The Barclays Open and it promises to be a wonderful week in a fantastic part of the world. We have no fewer than 15 players represented and I won’t be the least bit surprised if we add to our tally of winners.
We also have a strong presence at the World Match Play in Spain with Lee, Rory McIlroy, Simon Dyson and Jeev Milkha Singh all vying for honours. We may well be celebrating a double come Sunday night.
