High Fives For Louis

Louis Oosthuizen carded one of the rounds of the day at the Dubai World Championship to fire himself up the leaderboad.

The South African carded a five under par 67 which was only bettered by two rounds of 66 and Alvaro Quiros' record equalling 64. The Spaniard leads by four on -12.

Fredrik Andersson-Hed joined Paul Casey on route 66 to finish the day on -3. The Swede opened with three birdies to get back to level par for the tournament before picking up further shots at 10, 11 and 13. He dropped a shot at 17 before finishing strongly with a birdie.

Oosthuizen started the day halfway down the leaderboard on level par but an early birdie blitz shot the former Open winner into contention. He now sits in tied seventh but could have easily been Quiros' nearest challenger had it not been for a double bogey 6 on 12. The 29-year-old uncharacteristically three putted from 15 feet.

Fellow countryman Charl Schwartzel finished the day on -4 after shooting a one under par 71. The Masters champion will also be ruing dropped shots on nine and the par five 14th. Dave Horsey went round in level par to stay at -3 for the tournament.

Lee Westwood will be looking for some of the magic which helped him to a 62 at the Nebank Golf Challenge last Saturday. The world number three carded a three under par 69 to go two under and 10 shots adrift of the big hitting Quiros who holed a 20ft eagle putt at 18 to take a four shot lead into round three.

Rory McIlroy, who needs to win to have any chance of clinching the Race to Dubai title, finished with two bogeys to go -7. Meanwhile Luke Donald ended his round with three straight birdies to finish on -4 and a tie for 12th. The world number one needs to finish tied ninth or better to top the money list and make history by topping the earnings in Europe and America.
