Charl In The Presidential Suite

Charl is a class act both on and off the course and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him emerge as the leading points scorer of either side

On my way to join all the President’s men in Melbourne.

It’s the match between America and the rest of the world, excluding Europe, and Charl Schwartzel will be representing South Africa, ISM and himself on Greg Norman’s International side.

Charl is a class act both on and off the course and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him emerge as the leading points scorer of either side.

This will be one of the few weeks in the year when golf knocks cricket and racing out of the big headlines, but this is a major sporting destination and what a treat for a sports mad country with 24 of the world’s best golfers challenging for bragging rights.

It’s Charl’s first appearance, but he is no longer a rookie golfer after stunning the world with his magnificent win in this year’s Masters.   And I’m sure the Australian public will see just how much he has matured to become one of the game’s greats.

I’m really looking forward to the event and I’m sure both Charl and his close friend Louis Oosthuizen will be ready for the upcoming World Cup.

Louis really is again looking the golfer that won the Open at St Andrews last year.   I have no doubt that had the Barclay’s Singapore Open not been reduced to 54 holes then Louis would have been in a play-off at worst.  Instead he finished just one shot out after the weather-affected event must have made the bank wonder just what they have to do to get a full event in.

Joost Luiten was also gunning for glory in Singapore but a couple of bogeys in the last three holes ended his chances.  He should not worry because the winner’s circle beckons before long.
