Simon Dyson is riding the wave of success with ever-increasing balance and style.
Nobody should have been surprised by his victory in the KLM Open because it is the third time in five years that the Yorkshireman has triumphed in Holland.
Simon really is moving in impressive circles because only Seve Ballesteros and Bernhard Langer have claimed three wins in this event. And he is now just outside the world’s top 30 with every golfing door open to him now.
I fully expect Simon to continue his upward spiral in what has become his best-ever season following his win in the Irish Open just a few weeks ago.
Simon’s sixth European Tour title means he has won twice in three separate years, but I have a feeling he will break that record before the end of this season and collect at least another triumph.
A last round 66 saw him triumph by one shot over fellow Englishman David Lynn while ISM players featured in abundance on the leaderboard.
Just two back in third place came US Open champ Rory McIlroy while Lee Westwood signalled his intention to regain the world No.1 ranking by finishing fifth. And Joost Luiten, David Horsey and James Kingston were all tied sixth.
Simon’s climb means that we now have five clients in the top 9 in the Race To Dubai bringing the prospect of another record to our season of excellence. Long may it continue.
