It’s the start of the most exciting week in ISM’s history with the prospect of all four major trophies ending up on our boardroom table come Sunday evening.
After Charl Schwartzel slipped on the green jacket, Rory McIlroy spread-eagled the field at the US Open and Darren Clarke tucked into an Open sandwich, we have 10 runners all hoping to complete our set of grand slam titles.
It really is a thrilling prospect and I cannot remember anticipating the start of a major with such a heightened sense of anticipation. To think that we waited 20 years for our first major and now we could be on for five out of the last six. Heady days.
All our guys come to the immaculate Atlanta Athletic Club with a sense that they can achieve history for themselves by lifting the Wannamaker Trophy.
None more so than Lee Westwood , who has been so close so often, and Rory, who has developed a strong sense of how to peak at exactly the right time in the calendar.Majors are what drives them and I would love to see them up there at the end of the week along with any of our other players.
The preparation is done, they are under starters orders and now we’re ready for the off.Come on you good things.
