Following his superb victory in the Africa Open at East London, Louis took a week off and travelled to the Middle East to play in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.  Louis shot rounds of 72 and 73 giving him a two round one over par total of 145 which missed the halfway cut by one shot.

Germany's Martin Kaymer successfully defended his title and won on twenty four under par.
